AUDITECO was retained by a multinational consulting company to perform a legal and corporate Environmental Compliance Audit for the Romanian facilities of a leading global manufacturing and technology company, as part of its global corporate audit program. The program is based on a four-year audit cycle, and AUDITECO has provided support in the program starting with 2014.
The audit process included thorough site inspections, interviews with relevant environmental and engineering personnel, reporting of audit findings. The compliance status of each facility was assessed against applicable Romanian environmental regulations and corporate environmental standards. Particular challenges faced by audited facilities were related to assuring ever-better quality of their wastewater streams, identifying all obligations to the Environmental Fund Administration, assess if the equipment produced at the facilities fall under the provisions of the WEEE Directive and improve the storage conditions for hazardous substances.
