AUDITECO was retained by a Client from Germany to perform a Biodiversity Presentation Memorandum and Phase I Habitat Survey at a site located in Timis County where a solar park was going to be built.
The objectives of the Biodiversity Presentation Memorandum were to record habitats and ecological features (ornithology, mammals, invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians) of community interest, due to the fact that part of the proposed development was located in a Natura 2000 site.
The assessment was conducted on an area of 59 ha, mainly represented by agricultural, irrigation and drainage channels, small clumps of trees.
The biodiversity monitoring methodology consisted of desktop activities and several field monitoring campaigns for habitats and species of plants, birds, mammals, invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians conducted on appropriate periods of the year.
The results of the assessment were used to generate a Biodiversity Presentation Memorandum report which was submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency Timis.
