AUDITECO was retained by a Romanian Client to perform a Biodiversity Presentation Memorandum and Phase I Habitat Survey at a site located in Ialomita County where grain storage silos were going to be built.
The objectives of the Biodiversity Presentation Memorandum were to record habitats and ecological features (ornithology, mammals, invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians) of community interest, due to the fact that part of the proposed development was located in a Natura 2000 site.
The assessment was conducted on an area of 1 ha, mainly represented by agricultural land that was partially located in a Natura 2000 site.
The biodiversity monitoring methodology consisted of desktop activities and a field monitoring campaign for habitats and species of plants, birds, mammals, invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians.
The results of the assessment were used to generate a Biodiversity Presentation Memorandum report which was submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency Ialomita.
